About Me

Kerry Juniper, MHCPC, MRCSLT, MASLTIP

I am a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. I qualified at the University of Manchester in 2000 and am passionate about Speech and Language Therapy. I love my job and believe this comes through in my sessions. I pride myself on building strong therapeutic relationships with the clients, their families and everyone involved in their care.

I provide assessment and intervention for children, teenagers and young adults up to age of 25 years old. I also see adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries or Learning Difficulties.

My experience over the years has involved many different areas including pre-school and school aged children and teenagers with a range of communication issues, clients of all ages with complex communication needs with or without accompanying physical disabilities, neurodivergence, Acquired Brain Injury as a result of injuries during or after birth and Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Whilst I have experience in all of these areas, my specialist area is social and emotional and mental health. I have a wealth of experience and knowledge in this area including specific training in supporting mental health, sensory regulation and behaviours of distress.

I have worked for a number of years as a treating therapist for medical legal cases including children, teenagers and adults with TBI, ABI and Cerebral Palsy.  The majority of my clients have experienced associated SEMH issues and I have also led a SLT team working with looked after children and young people both within their care homes and in specialist SEMH schools.

I also support mental capacity assessment. I feel very strongly that everyone should have their feelings and needs known and provide support preparing for capacity assessments, in addition to attendance at the assessment as required.

Besides work, I am a mum to two amazing young adults, who like to keep me on my toes, in addition to a herd of seven Guinea Pigs! Who am I to say no to a piggie that needs a good home?!!  I think my hobbies outside work would have to be involving my whole family, eating out and trips away, exercise (I love a bit of a step class or going on the cross trainer) and snuggling up with a good book.
